If there is one place where you can really go to town having fun with decoration it is in your child’s bedroom. And when it comes to flooring you will find a whole heap of kids rugs to add the finishing touch you are looking for. It seems that there is a rug depicting every cartoon character ever created as well as classic kid’s rugs sporting cute animals, toys and fairies.
In a child’s room you can add plenty of color and a rug is a superb way of tying colors in a room together. If you are looking for inspiration you can even start with your kids rug and use the colors in it to inspire the room color scheme. Just don’t choose a rainbow rug otherwise things may get out of hand.
Unless you have an unlimited budget you can choose a polypropylene rug for your child’s room which will be fairly cheap especially if you are going to buy something your child will outgrow in a very short time. If you prefer a wool kids rug then go for a classic design or pattern that is cheerful but not quickly outgrown. This could be something like a flag or large spot design.
For smaller children you can mix play time with flooring. You can find kids play rugs which have things to discover as well as pictures to look at. These play rugs are meant to be crawled on and felt rather than walked on and looked at. In fact you should avoid walking on them to keep them clean and hygienic – you know how everything goes in a young child’s mouth. It’s how they discover the world. If your rug is made of soft padded material you can put it on the floor or in a play pen or travel cot and sit your baby or young child on it to play in a safe environment.
If you child is a little older simply choose from the range of kids area rugs available. You will find them in all shapes and sizes. You can ask your child to help choose the rug for their room then you know they will like it.
If you’re looking for rugs for kids with a difference take a look at the range HERE. You will find learning traffic rugs like the ones in the picture as well as those with numbers and ABC. There are rugs with Sesame Street and other cartoon characters as well as rugs covered in dinosaurs, zoo animals, planets, rockets and pirates. There are pretty multi-colored rugs in stripes and pastels. Many are at a discount and you are bound to find something to enhance you child’s room that both of you will enjoy and remember with fondness long after your child becomes a teenager and wants something completely different on their floor (if they can even see it that is! I am at that stage now!)
