Green Rug : Select the Best

There are some wonderful green rugs around but green can be a difficult color to work with as one green rug will go with your color scheme and another will look hideous. It is the nature of greens that they do not all go together so it is important to choose the right shade of green

A lime green rug will look splendid in the right room. It is a color which you rarely find in classic interiors so your lime green area rug will give your room an instant contemporary look like no other. If your modern room needs an area rug for impact, lime green may very well be your best color. (This also works well as a bath rug too in an all white bathroom).

An olive green rug on the other hand has a natural look which goes very well with creams, browns and beiges and all the colors of fall. You would not think of putting lime green rugs in the same setting. I have seen a wonderful olive green shag rug made entirely of strips of suede which would add beauty to oak wood flooring like nothing else or even to an ivory tile floor.

A mint green rug is a great color for a room decorated in pale tones. It goes particularly well with cream or white. I have seen a mint green and pink rug used in a little girls white bedroom with accessories picking out the pink and green colors in the rug. It looked fantastic. Whereas olive green is a grown up color, mint green is decidedly sweet and girly.

A blue green rug offers an alternative grown-up color which goes well in many interiors. It has a modern feel to it too as it is a color or color combination which has been used more in recent years than before. Pick out the same blue green tones in accessories to tie the room together.

If you’re looking for a more classic look, look out for sage green area rugs which have the muted tones favored in the past. You will find Chinese rugs with a sage green background and also the same sage green color used in the leaves of a floral patterned rug which also suits classic interiors.

With a classic rug, choose natural materials as the quality really shows. A green wool rug will boost the look of your living room, where a synthetic one will look cheap. For a modern take on the classics try a round green rug (in natural green) at the center of a square seating area made up of cream sofas.
