A purple rug can enhance any number of room schemes. There are so many different styles which feature this most royal and rich of colors.

A pure wool purple rug either plain or in a large geometric pattern incorporating various shades adds a splash of sophistication to a berry color theme. That would be wonderful in a formal and modern living room along with one wall in rich purple wallpaper mirroring a color in your rug.

A purple shag rug would look fantastic in a teenager’s retro 70s bedroom – this could either be pure wool shag pile or a dyed purple flokati rug – all colors of the rainbow not just natural shades are are now available.

And there are quite a range of colors in the purple theme – from deepest plum through bright purple to smoky lilac with a hint of gray. You will find rugs in all these colors.

The types of rooms that I am not so sure about using purple are in traditional and country settings (unless we are talking about including lilac or a small amount of purple in a floral or other small scale pattern). Rugs for these type of rooms normally have a more subdued tone which purple is not renowned for.
