Outdoor rugs are a great way to make your patio and back yard stand out and they offer comfort as well as good looks. Outdoor rugs in every shape and size are available. Round outdoor rugs are great on a square shaped patio giving it a particularly nice outdoor room feeling but you will probably find a rectangular runner shape is most use for an entrance area. Don’t overwhelm your patio by buying an indoor outdoor rug which is too large for it. It will make your patio look poky and small. On the other hand make sure that your rug is big enough to make an impact. Door mat sized rugs are not going to do a large patio justice.

An out door rug is also an asset by the poolside if you are lucky enough to have a swimming pool in your back yard. It will not be affected by the pool chemicals in the same way as a normal rug would be if you choose the weather resistant kind and it can help dry off feet as you come out of the pool making the pool side less damp and slippery. A couple of outdoor runner rugs around the pool in strategic areas would be ideal.

An indoor outdoor rug is easy to keep clean. Some are washable in the washing machine others can just be hosed down with a garden hose to get them looking like new again. I wish I could say that for all carpet!
